Blockheads 4

Blocks 3 & 4

Welcome back! Are you settling into a routine with your Blockheads sewing schedule yet? I am! How are things going? After four (very quick) weeks, I also came up with an idea for how to create some visual cohesion for what will surely be a colorful scrappy quilt in the end. Keep reading to hear what I’m up to!

Revised Plans

Originally, my plan for this sew along was not to have a plan. That didn’t last very long! As usual, one thing led to another and I started to feel the need to create some visual connections between the blocks I’m making. How, you wonder? Well, my new-and-improved plan is to pick one of the fabrics used in one block and carry it forward into the next block. By creating this teensy bit of repetition, it might help to give your eye some spots to bounce around to in the finished quilt. We’ll see how that goes! Do you have a plan?

Digging Way Back

As I mentioned in the previous post, I’m sewing from my stash which is so much fun! I love revisiting these prints and seeing how different collections can work together. It sure has me thinking! Can you name any of the collections you see here?

Laurie and Anne’s blocks were a fun contrast to one another in their complexity/simplicity. I’m a big fan of the 4-at-a-time flying geese technique! How about you? Can’t wait to see what next week will bring! See you then. XO, Kate
