Some fabric collections have a story worth telling.
Sunflowers in My Heart began not as a fabric line, but as an act of solidarity. In the weeks after Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, Kate drew a sunflower — Ukraine's national flower — and turned it into a t-shirt. Her community responded with remarkable generosity. In just over a month, sales raised more than $5,000 for World Central Kitchen's emergency relief work feeding families in Ukraine and Poland.
Moda Fabrics took notice. That single drawing grew into a full collection — rich with the yellows, blues, and greens of a sunflower field in high summer.
The collection has been out of print for years. But Kate still has some fabric.
What you'll receive:
40 five-inch squares, in the assortment and quantities shown, hand-cut by Kate in her Bridgeport studio from the original Sunflowers in My Heart collection
1 randomly selected bonus 8.5" square of the iconic Sunflower print, from the panel that anchored the original collection. The surprise background colors are either, white, sky blue, turquoise, green or navy. They’re all my favorite!
These 41 pieces are ready to become something beautiful — and we'd suggest starting with Kate's free Sewing Room Blooms project, designed for her brand-new Floriori collection. The pattern works beautifully with 5" charm squares. You can make 4 Sewing Room Blooms from one charm pack.
Quantities are limited. These are cut from Kate's own studio stash — when they're gone, they're gone.
