Hand-tufted by GoodWeave-certified artisans from 100% Guilds of High Peak Estate New Zealand wool. The durable closed-loop construction minimizes curling — while the exceptional length and weight of this wool means minimal shedding. At ¾" to nearly 1" thick, the plush pile rewards every barefoot step — and only gets better with time.

Rug Care

We want you to enjoy your eye heart hand rug for years to come — and with a little care, that won't be difficult.

If you'd like to pre-treat your rug with a pet-safe wool-guard treatment, just ask and we'll arrange a quote before your rug ships.

Unpacking

When first unpacked, your rug may have a natural wool scent from its pure, unbleached fibers. This is temporary — air it out for a day or two in a dry, breezy spot and it will dissipate within days or weeks.

Rug Pads

We recommend a rug pad under every area rug. We offer a high quality felt and rubber pad made in the US. Pads absorb wear, add cushion, prevent slipping, and extend the life of your rug. Rotate your rug every 12–18 months for even wear.

Sprouts

If any fibers come loose, snip with scissors. Do not pull.

Curling

If your rug curls after unpacking, it should flatten within a week. Reverse rolling usually does the trick.

Shedding

Our tight closed-loop construction and long-staple wool mean significantly less shedding than other new wool rugs.

Vacuuming

Never vacuum with a beater bar or rotating brush — this damages the fibers. Use a broom or a canister vacuum without the beater bar engaged.

Spot Cleaning

The high lanolin content in our wool helps repel liquid, giving you a little extra time to act. Clean spills immediately — once set, stains are harder to remove.

Blot (don't rub) with a clean white cloth. Use diluted white vinegar and water (1:10), a wool cleaning solution, or a product like Amodex. Finish with clean water and dry towels to absorb remaining moisture.

Professional Cleaning

For a full clean, use a professional experienced with handmade rugs — not wall-to-wall carpet cleaners. Inspect the rug together before cleaning and get a signed receipt and guarantee beforehand.

Shipping

Free ground shipping on all rugs to addresses in the lower 48 United States. Rugs typically arrive within 3–5 business days. Rugs ship to U.S. addresses only. For delivery to Alaska or Hawaii, please email us before you order, and we'll confirm shipping costs and options for your address. Delivery there takes a bit longer.
Return policy

We want you to love your rug. If it's not the right fit, you may return it, unused and in its original condition, within 30 days of delivery. Change-of-mind returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee.

  1. Contact us to request a return. Please wait for our approval before shipping.
  2. Roll and wrap the rug in its original packaging (or similar), fully enclosed and sealed with packing tape.
  3. Ship via UPS or FedEx Ground to our studio. We'll provide the address upon approval.
  4. Email us the tracking number. Return shipping is the customer's responsibility.

Once we receive and inspect your rug, you may choose an exchange, store credit, or refund.

Arrived damaged?

Shipping damage is rare, but if your rug arrives damaged, email us within 7 days of delivery with your order number and photos of the rug and its packaging. Please keep the packaging until we've sorted it out, since the carrier may need to inspect it. We'll make it right with a replacement or a full refund: no restocking fee, and no return shipping cost to you.
